How Often Should a Repair Shop Post on Social Media?
There's no single correct number here, and anyone who gives you one exact answer is oversimplifying. But there is a clear floor: posting once a month isn't enough to stay visible, and most shops post far less often than they think they do.
Why consistency matters more than volume
A shop that posts three times a week, every week, will outperform a shop that posts fifteen times one month and then goes quiet for two. Social platforms reward accounts that show up regularly, and so do the people following you. Irregular posting reads as an inactive business even when the shop itself is busy.
A realistic starting cadence
For most repair shops, two to three feed posts a week plus a few stories in between is a sustainable target. That's frequent enough to stay visible without requiring a full production schedule. Reels or short videos once a week on top of that go a long way, since video tends to reach further than static posts.
What happens if you post too little
Your account looks abandoned to anyone who checks it before deciding to call. An inactive Instagram or Facebook page next to an active one from a competitor is an easy way to lose a customer who was already interested.
What happens if you post too much, too fast
Quality drops, and it becomes unsustainable within a few weeks. Most shops that try to post daily on their own burn out within a month and stop entirely, which is worse than a modest, steady pace.
The pace that actually works is the one you can keep up
This is the real reason most shops fall behind: not a lack of good moments to post, but a lack of time to turn them into content every single week. Our credit system is built around exactly that problem, so a shop can keep a steady cadence without someone on staff having to manage it.
