Why Your Shop’s Website Needs More Than a Contact Page
A lot of shop websites are really just a business card online: a name, a phone number, an address, maybe a logo. That's not nothing, but it's not doing much of the work a website is capable of either.
A contact page doesn't build trust before the call
By the time someone's looking at your contact page, they should already be convinced. If all they've seen is your name and number, they're deciding to call you on faith. Real photos of your work, the shop itself, and what you actually offer does that convincing before the phone ever rings.
What to add instead
- Real photos of the shop and the work you do, not stock images.
- A clear list of your actual services, not a vague "we do it all."
- Your service area, named specifically, not just a phone number with a local area code.
- Reviews or testimonials once you have real ones to share.
It also matters for showing up in search
A single contact page gives Google almost nothing to work with. More real pages, each about a specific service or aspect of your shop, gives search engines more ways to match your business to what people are actually searching for.
Your website should work while you're not there
It's the one piece of your online presence that's on, doing its job, at 11pm on a Sunday when someone's deciding where to take their bike Monday morning. A contact page alone doesn't give them a reason to choose you. A website that actually shows who you are does.
